Tell Tale Signs
Drugs and Alcohol Education
Tell Tale Signs is an exciting education initiative designed especially to address concerns that parents and carers may have about young people and drugs. There are two versions of Tell Tale Signs, one for parents/carers of primary school children and the other for parents/carers of secondary school children.
It aims to promote an awareness of drug culture and enable discussion of the issues involved both now and for the future.
Those attending this entertaining and informative event will be able to examine how drug culture can affect young people and how parents/carers can make a difference.
The two-hour session includes:
- high-quality drama sketches giving an opportunity to explore the concerns facing adults and young people about drugs
- a chance to address the real fears faced by the public about drugs and drug-related crime
- examination of the ways parents and others can establish good communication with young people about drugs and so extend drug education into the home
- an opportunity for parents and carers to share their concerns and ideas with each other
- up-to-date information from trained workshop leaders about both legal and illegal drugs
- advice, support and information about local services.
No previous knowledge is necessary to enjoy the session and everyone is encouraged to attend. Tell Tale Signs aims to leave participants feeling confident to open a discussion about drugs and to respond in a constructive and appropriate way.
