Course: Diversity and Equality
Objectives
The training session will:
- introduce participants to the idea of diversity
- raise awareness of anti-discriminatory legislation such as the Race Relations Amendment Act, The Disability Discrimination Act and The Gender Equality Duty
- encourage participants to identify the gap between organisational policy and practice
- show examples of organisational cultures that don't support diversity
- increase participants' confidence to challenge and change inappropriate behaviour
Overview
A series of 'snapshot' dramas are presented. They show moments in the life of an organisation, as if the audience had opened the door of a business or service and seen it at work. The snapshots would touch upon a number of key diversity issues and make reference to anti-discriminatory legislation.
Length
2.5 hours.
Medium
Interactive.
The session is delivered by a skilled facilitator and comprises topical drama sketches performed by professional actors. Participants are engaged in commenting on the presented scenarios and suggesting alternative outcomes that are subsequently enacted.
Target participants
Courses for frontline staff and management are available. Suitable for groups of up to 40 delegates.
Evaluation
To help the commissioning body assess/quantify the benefit and relevance of the course to delegates' roles within the organisation, all sessions are evaluated through the use of verbal feedback and written forms. Summarised findings are then provided.
Price
